An exciting new qualification
If you understand that building strong foundations is the most important step in securing children's future enjoyment and success in Maths, but you lack the essential knowledge, skills and confidence to make this happen, read on.
Whether you're a teacher, assistant or parent, as long as you're passionate about investing in your own 'Maths Tool Box', then this course is for you.
Come away understanding:
- Why learning about 'numbers' aren't as straight forward as you might think (and is so much more than counting)
- How to use everyday routines such as meal time, tidying up and exploring outside to develop 'number sense' in ways that children find exciting and meaningful.
- What having a 'deep understanding' of numbers to 10 means and how this makes 'teen numbers (and above) easy to learn
- How crucial 'number sense' is when laying the essential foundations needed for adding (including number bonds), subtracting, multiplying (including times tables), dividing (including fractions) that they'll encounter daily as they progress through school and why it's a lack of 'number sense' that leads to failure and dislike of mathematics.
'The five frames are a game changer. Before I started any of this training my only experience was a ten frame. I now see how important it is to start with a five frame and then introduce another one when the first one is full/finished.
Thank you so much for putting all this valuable training together, it's amazing!'
Liz Burke
'A fantastic week in Maths with some great eyebrow raising from the powers that be.
A change is coming...!🥳
We are using ten frames them for our book vote (the children's request) where after our initial discussion about which book is the most/least popular (lots of comparative language going on). Lots of 'One full ten frame and 3 of the next ten frame...there are four 2s in this ten frame...we need three more to make this frame full.'

'My #wowbomb this week has literally knocked my socks off and it’s this: My children simply have amazing mathematical sense because they are exploring math in a way that MAKES SENSE to their brains and because they are given the time and space to explore and make meaning for themselves.'
